Unique Medieval Activity Days

A Medieval Jousting Experience Day takes you back in time when our valiant English knights were practising awesome medieval horseback sports to provide some of historys most exhilarating and colourful entertainment for on looking local dignitaries and, of course, to show off their valiant bravery to ladies-in-waiting in the hopes of wining their total adoration.

Knights of Middle England give the scary antics of old England an exciting new twist for the 21st century with plenty of team spirit and fun filled activity; even those who have never been on a horse before can become Sir Lancelot and throw down the gauntlet.

These unique and exciting days are all carried out on a very basic level with safety being at the forefront of every activity. Riding experience is an advantage for certain activities but is not essential. All training is done in an easy and comfortable step by step fashion to suit all requirements. No rider is ever pushed beyond his/her limits. A reasonable level of fitness is required for the day's activities.

Do not be put off or scared - it is not as hard as it looks! We have the attitude of anyone can "have a go" at learning to joust and we aim to make it as fun and enjoyable as possible, even if you have never sat on a horse before - Jousting demands a different type of equestrian skill and our horses can accommodate any standard of horsemanship! Just bring the bravery and let the adrenaline take over!

This fascinating experience package consists of teaching you the basic jousting skills needed to strike the dreaded "quintaine" (man shaped target that spins around on impact) and authentic mounted games such as collecting rings off the tilt (wooden fence to divide the two competing knights) with a lance and a pig sticking/tent pegging competition.

Safely let out your aggression on a man shaped target and practice for the encounter with the Black Knight!

Participants will have the chance to dress up in medieval costume and armour, have their own title and coat of arms for the day and learn basic choreographed sword/staff fights that you must present to the rest of your fellow knights. You can even try to be Warwickshire's own Robin Hood and unleash your bow and try and split the arrow!

The day builds up to a chance to put all the skills you have learnt into use as you try and unseat the mischievous Black Knight in a small joust and gain your Knighthood.

Traditionally jousting was only permitted for men to partake in until the late middle ages, but fear not, we take lady knights too!!
